"Training Program in Accessibility and Universal Design" at the UNR: 2nd Meeting

Date:
Monday, November 14, 2016
Organized by the University Extension Secretariat and the University Infrastructure Secretariat, the initiative has received support from the MUSE Project, which is located in the Institute of University Studies at Vice Rectory of the UNR, as it is oriented towards one of its objectives : "Enhancement of managerial and administrative staff capacities in dealing with and implementing inclusive education practices".
In this regard, one of the teachers, Architect Cecilia Ferreño, expressed the need for "breaking paradigms, changing attitudes, normalizing universal design". He emphasized the importance of compliance with the norms being accompanied by sensitization processes, oriented towards a change of approach, allowing an "architecture for all" instead of "accessible architecture".
The meeting was aimed at members of university staff, who had the opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and proposals aimed at ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities in university spaces. The Program is expected to be finalized in the framework of a third intensive meeting, which includes staff from UNL and UNNE, as well as a student audience and external to the university community itself.
